Affordable Housing (CHDO)-Tikkun Olam
Tikkun Olam, is a concept in Judaism, which refers to various forms of action intended to repair and improve the world. As it relates to practical methods, Tikkun Olam applies to working in all communities, not just Jewish communities.
Jews are members of greater society, and as such, their actions are not limited to their own communities. Social welfare and volunteer work, as well as the donation of monetary and physical resources, are ways in which people can be involved, and at the same time, be involved inTikkun Olam.
Nationwide, the lack of affordable housing for economically vulnerable citizens has introduced new opportunities to fill this unmet demand.
In addition to its non-profit donor base, CLJR has sought to amplify its financial strategy to ensure the sustainability of the organization’s mission and the ability to expand its outreach.
The Center is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a 501(c) (3) Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) with fully audited financials. CLJR has successfully focused on housing partnerships in order to provide much needed affordable housing for low income Americans.
